Year 1

For our technology unit the Juniors are learning about the production process. The context

is fast food. We visited Subway to watch a production process. Back at school we created our own sandwiches from paper and layered each of the ingredients in order. We then worked in pairs to design a Monster Sandwich collage. We used cardboard covered with oats for the bread, polystyrene painted yellow for the cheese, red paper stuffed and stapled for the tomato, and green paper cut using zigzag scissors for the lettuce. We have come to a class consensus about the ingredients we want for our real sandwiches and this week we will be visiting a supermarket to buy the ingredients. We will invite our Mums and Dads for lunch and use what we have learnt about the production process to make them

yummy sandwiches for lunch.
